Stein Torleif Bjella

After a smashing album launch, Stein Torleif Bjella and his eminent band are hitting the road again, in the fall of 2026.

The album Velkomen skodde has been hailed as a career highlight by a rare large and unanimous group of critics, who have rolled sixes and mentioned Hallingen as one of the most important songwriters of our time.

Velkomen skodde is a new musical chapter for Bjella, who has always been a master at depicting the familiar and recognizable. The album opens new doors, both musically and thematically, with warm impulses from Latin American traditions. In addition, a star-studded cast of fellow musicians and international contributors such as Marc Ribot and Daniel Lanois contribute.

Bjella was even referred to as "Our new musical world citizen" by Dagens Næringsliv's Audun Vinger in his review of the album. The response from the audience has not been long in coming.

In recent years, Bjella has reached an increasingly wider audience, not least through his participation in the TV2 hit Hver gang vi møtes, and his concerts today gather both loyal listeners and new fans.

This autumn's tour will be a celebration of the album Velkomen skodde, but also an invitation into a completely unique universe. Here, the audience will experience new songs that have already taken root, side by side with the songs that have made Bjella a pioneering figure in Norwegian singing.

With him is his regular band, consisting of Eirik Øien on bass, Kenneth Kapstad on drums and Geir Sundstøl on strings, who elevate the songs to lively and dynamic concert experiences.

Stein Torleif Bjella is known for giving voice to the quiet lives, to longing, hope and the unsaid. On stage, he combines the thoughtful with the warm and down-to-earth, which means that the concerts touch both the heart and the smile.

For those who already have a relationship with Bjella, this is a long-awaited continuation. For new audiences, it is a rare opportunity to discover one of Norway's foremost storytellers up close.
